Library

The Eye Hospital Library is available for all members of staff to use for learning about Ophthalmology.

Ophthalmic journals and up to date textbooks are available for use but must not be removed from the Library. Photocopying facilities are available.

Four computer workstations may be used to access online journals, CD-rom textbooks and interactive packages including the GeneEye database. Medline and other online access is available in accordance with the Trust’s Computer Use Policy. Please check out the National Library for Health’s Eyes & Vision Specialist Library(link here) - obtain your Athens password via this link here.

Lectures to support the PixEyes laser training package may be viewed on the workstations.  DVD-Video of department training meetings may be viewed in the Library.                                     

Please do not use the “one touch” presentation facilities until you have received appropriate training. Similarly the recording equipment at the rear of the Library is not for general use. Visiting eye professionals must pre-book their session.  Signing in and the wearing of Visitors badge are mandatory.    Junior doctors should pre book their allocated study sessions to ensure availability.                        The Library houses presentation and video-conferencing equipment, used in various meetings throughout the year. Details of our meeting schedule may be found here.
